Although choropleth map provides a good visual impression on how the statistical data varies across geographical regions, it can't provide detail insights for individual locations. Combining proportional symbol map and choropleth map will solve the issue.
The following example shows a map combined proportional symbol map and choropleth map in TMap 2.2. From the map, we can see total population across different province in Canada, we can also check total population for each metropolitan area from dots on the map. Just from one map, you can gain business insights at both regional and individual location level.Sometimes, we need to explore spatial correlations between two variables. Combining chart map and choropleth map will help us for this.
The following example shows a map combined donut chart map and choropleth map in TMap 2.2. On the map, charts show GDP by 3 sections across 6 continents; and choropleth map show population. The map shows that Asia has the highest population and the highest GDP, Africa has the second highest population but doesn't have the second highest GDP.You can go to Microsoft AppSource to download TMap Visual and try it.
